Be the one who can't stop smiling

This post is specially dedicated to all the male readers that passed by my blog. One of my friends ever asked me Why do you hate men so much?. Wow, I certainly didn't realize my writings have reflected so much negative impressions on men, or even... judgments. So, this post is all about the good men and the bitches. Hey, at least I'm still able to pick up some good stuffs about man.

Let's start with the bitches. I noticed the phenomena of certain she-thinks-she-is-so-eligible girl keeps on changing the relationship status in facebook, single-in a relationship-it's complicated-single-in a relationship or the status when single is I miss him blah blah and blah. I completely sane enough to notice that it's none of my business and I probably shouldn't be really judging her. But, since this post is about bitches, there's nothing wrong with me for being bitchy ;P. Routinely changing status is a really stupid way of attention seeking. Set up the in a relationship notice to tell the world she's not the gloomy bachelor who has no companion while all her friends are either married or in a long run relationship. But, on the other hand, not satisfied with what she's got now, greedily routinely changing the relationship to single, to announce and lure those men, she's the catch, the eligible bachelor, the strong career minded woman. It's just so... EW. Such an attention seeking method really looks dumb. It's like on one side wanna play playgirl game, on the other side wanna try to act like a little girl. It's so... pretentious and stupid. Cannot bear the stupidity. I definitely would not mind if she has done it smartly and elegantly. Some men are good at it. They have girlfriends, but they just don't put the relationship status. So yeah, it's not his fault if you assume he's single, it's not his fault that he doesn't tell you because you didn't do much researches and you came into him yourself. These jerks are much smarter than those stupid attention seeking women.

Sweet man does exist. In one of Desperate Housewives series - Season 3 epison 16, one of the husbands was secretly trying to create a memorable night for their 9 years wedding anniversary.

At eight a limo driver will come with dozens of roses and a card. The card is gonna tell the wife to go with the guy, not ask any questions. The driver will drive her out to the country. He’ll drop her off and drive away. Just when she starts to freak out the husband will appear in a horse-drawn carriage which will take them up to the romantic dinner, where they will eat and listen to the professional violinist.

Too bad, the wife was too fatigue and told the husband that she just wanted the hot bathe on their anniversary. The husband, however, ignored that and continued with his plan. The surprise plan was accidentally leaked out, but not the details. The wife was mad knowing the husbanding was planning something despite of the fact that she told him what she really wants on that day. She screamed at him for ignoring what she told him, for neglecting what she really wanted, for the obligation to shave her legs and blow her hair despite of her tiredness. The sweet plan was abandoned. The husband canceled everything. The husband went to play poker, the wife stayed at home play cards at their anniversary day.

The limo driver didn't get the message, so the driver went according to the plan to fetch the wife. The wife was dropped in the middle of nowhere at suburb for hours, freezing herself. The husband, not knowing anything, received a call from the limo driver, telling him that he would drive them back a little bit late later. The husband freaked out. The limo driver told him that he dropped his wife hours ago. The husband then picked up the wife. They spent their anniversary stopped by at a bar to drink something warm. He told her that he learned his lesson, from now on he does what she wants. She told him that he was right. They should keep the romance going because it was a lovely idea that went hideously ugly. They make a toast to nine happy years and they loved every minute of it.

Sometimes, long term relationship is like an old building. It needs to be maintained and repainted, if not, it's just gonna look dull and collapse someday.
How often you shower those who have stayed with you for a long time with small surprises and not take them for granted? A clever and sweet man knows.

Love the ending words at the episode.

Rex closes the episode: “Take a drive down any street in suburbia and what are you gonna see? A bunch of guys wearing the same expression. It’s a look that says: “Oh, crap. My dreams are never gonna come true””.
Orson helps Danielle to go away. “I’ll never have a life free from scandals.”
Carlos holds Travers’ basketball. “I’ll never have a son of my own.”
Austen leaves. “I’ll never hold her in my arms again.”
Mike goes home and sees Susan and Ian happy. “I’ll never get to tell her how I fell.”
“Yeah the suburbs are filled with a lot of man who had given up hope.”
Tom and Lynette (the husband and wife above) come home but she kisses him in front of the door. “Every once in a while, you do come across some lucky S.O.B. whose dreams have all come true. You know how you spot them? They are the ones who can’t stop smiling. Don’t you just hate those guys?”

Dream

We learned in investment, we learned from financial consultant, we learned from news, we learned low risk and high return, we learned, we did, but still we always unconsciously pick those high risk and low return investment... when we invest on human.

It always amazes me how volatile a relationship is. Few days ago, you received a parcel from a certain person, few days later, you found out he removed you from his friend list. Few days ago, you walked in the street, hugging each other, few days later, you hurt each other sarcastically. And most of the time, you only focus on the thing that the other might or has offended you. I did not offend anyone, I never, but people offended me, those people DID. Those were the sentence that repeatedly ringing in your mind when you're upset.

Isn't it very ironic that those people are usually the same person. The person who told you how much they care about you, who disappointed at how blind you are to not being able to feel his cares. And the person who walked away from your life as if you two never met each other. Those... are the same person. And now you wonder... what have you done? It seems always wrong to either speak out or keep silent. Then you choose the solitude.

The world, nevertheless, is still spinning. The moon, ganged up with Venus and Jupiter to form a smile on the sky to happily tease you for being alone. And now you wonder... how could they do that? How dare they did that? Ain't they suppose to give you a hand? Then you realized, when your physiological profile is quite extraordinary, what you perceive is extraordinary too.

I had a nightmare. In my dream, people were all running, tried to escape from something. I was terrified. Thus, I run very fast and was quite in the front line. I looked behind, there were friends behind me that still running but I perceive them as if they were only standing there, did nothing. I left them behind. I successfully got into a car. I thought I was saved. I was wrong. There was no driver, the car moved itself and besides the invisible driver, there's a creepy little gal. I gulped down my saliva, tried carefully not to make any sound, I dialed the number that my fingers are very familiar with. I couldn't reach you. In the middle of my despairs, a less expected person rang me. His gentle voice calmed me.

I have always been waiting for you to give me a hand, to pull me out from this deep hole.
I guess that's the problem with me. I seem to always nostalgically wait for the wrong person, nostalgically expect for the wrong person. Or maybe, I just didn't give chance to the right person.

And then I learned. I'm just like the little flower in my story, who is somehow a little fragile, timid and coward. Who is somehow still greedily wish and dream for the comfort dependent. Who is somehow has so little courage to step out.

Terrorist

Looked into the big mirror in the bathroom, I saw irregular lines across my sclera, swollen nose and felt the irritated sensitive skin on the cheek. The image on the mirror seems to illustrate the character on the book I have the right to destroy myself by Young-Ha Kim.

It's not one of my favorite books. I'm not really a fan of Korean culture. The prejudicial treatments between man and woman appear in every pages either vaguely or explicitly.

"I worked at a bar."
"Were you a bartender?"
"No, I was too young. They wouldn't let me mix drinks."
"Then what did you do there?"
"I was a mannequin."
"A mannequin?"
"I was a mannequin sitting on the bar. I wasn't sitting at the bar, I sat on top of it."
"What were you doing up there?"
"I was wearing paper clothes."
"Huh, that's funny."
"The clothes were made of pieces so that you could take them off, one by one. And each piece had a price writing on it. People would drink, look at me, then pay to take off a piece of paper corresponding to that price. I wasn't supposed to say anything. People always wanted to talk to me. They wanted to see how my expression changed whenever they took off a piece of paper."
"I would have wanted the same thing."
"Yeah, but I was too young to understand. You know human are really strange. I became very different when I was wearing that patchwork paper dress. I didn't like it when guys took off a piece of paper, leering, but then I would wish someone would take off all the pieces. I was sad when there still was paper stuck to my body after we closed. I was the sum of ragged scraps of paper, and I was sitting there, a mannequin with pieces of paper that couldn't be converted into money. Do you get that feeling? I doubt it. It's hard to understand a mannequin."
"Uh-huh."
"One day this guy came in. From that day on, he sat in front of me every night and drank. He didn't talk to me once. He drank a beer and took off a piece of paper from my left breast worth thirty Hong Kong dollars. He drank another beer, looking at my bare breast. He would do the same the next night, and the night after that. He was only an unimportant salaryman. He wore a wrinkled suit and a cheap tie. I wanted to give him my left breast. I wanted him to fondle it all night and fall asleep doing that. But I couldn't. If I got caught sleeping with a customer, my breast would be cut off. For a month, he came in, looked at my left breast, and went home. I thought I was going to go crazy."
"Then one day another guy showed up. He was wearing an Armani suit and looked like a small-time gangster. As soon as he sat down in front of me, he took off the three-hundred-dollar piece, the most expensive one. He left all the other pieces, all the way down to the cheapest scrap. Then he beckoned, someone ran over, threw some clothes on me, and put me in a car. He was the first man who took all the pieces off. I thought I should love him."
"I started living with him. I wore a paper dress at home. Only for one person, for him. Each time, he paid and took off the scraps. Then I would work for him. But I never slept with him. Instead, during three months I lived with him, I drank his sperm, probably more than a liter. He didn't ever try to screw me. After he took off all the paper clothes, he made me kneel and eat his cum, then fell asleep. Afterward, every time, I drank the water he had in his house - Evian. My mouth always smelled like his juice and later the Evian started tasting like it. I began to collect it. He thought it was funny. I told him I would save it and drink it later. Whenever he came, I would funnel it in an empty Evian bottle and keep it in the fridge. Finally, when the bottle was full, I put on the paper dress again. He paid for all the pieces. He sat in a chair and waited for me to kneel. I went behind him and put a gun to his head. I forced him to drink all the stuff in the Evian bottle. He threw up. I left him there and ran out. Then I came on this trip."

Life is undeniably tiring.
Don't you just hate those people who break in into your life, judge you, criticize you, want you to do what they think the best for you while they never really there when you need them, never really there to hug you and say "it's okay"... for years... and always thinking that they know you the best.
